I’m Galen Herbst de Cortina, CFP® and I primarily serve business owners under age 40.
It’s my mission to make sure everyone knows how to manage their personal finances. You’re in an awesome place and earning great money; you should take full advantage of that. Most of us weren’t taught personal finance skills in school. I see so much potential in all of you and I don’t want something as manageable as taxes get in your way. I couldn’t find any traditional planning firms working with younger clients so I went out and started my own. Plus, that way I can adhere the tech industry dress code instead of some stodgy suit and tie office.
I was a professional with a good job but little finance knowledge, just like you. I remembering being confused when offered different employee benefits, not knowing how to best use the money I was saving, and spending a ton (without guidance) because I was making a ton.
For the credentials: I’m a Certified Financial Planner® professional and have my MBA in personal financial planning.
